Reunion with Nature
It probably goes without saying that nature began whispering in my ear at a young age, taunting and teasing and pulling at my imagination.
You might be surprised, however, to learn that we – nature and me – stopped sharing secrets for years. Too many, in fact.
To find out how my move to Arizona’s remote Sonoran Desert resulted in a long-overdue reunion and a creative metamorphosis, read my guest post with Patrick Ross at The Artist’s Road, a 2011-12 Top 10 Blog for Writers. Patrick is a professional storyteller who has returned to an art-committed life, bringing readers creativity and writing insights. I’m thrilled to share my experience with his readers. Thank you, Patrick.

Gotta give credit where credit is due: Hubby took the super moon shots!

As much as I’d like to take credit for the fab super moon photo, it was my dearest husband who captured its magnificence.

Loved your post over at The Artist’s Road – and, you’re right. I *was* surprised to hear that you weren’t always this connected to nature. It’s so obviously in your blood.
Your super moon photo is incredible!! I love the way it’s still touching the Earth, with one little hillock holding it up like one of those stands for displaying a precious plate.

You could SELL that photo — to me for one. =)

You’re so funny! I’m not sure the resolution/camera is good enough to blow that puppy up like it would need to be for a “sellable” photo. But I’m glad you liked it; I’ll let hubby know since it was his handiwork — not mine, this time.

If you ever got tired with writing (please don’t!) you could easily make a living with your photos. That’s gotta be the best one I’ve seen of the Super Moon.

You know, Cynthia, I don’t know a THING about photography. I just look for interesting angles, aim and shoot. I would LOVE to take some classes, though. Thank you for your wonderful compliment!

I’m heading over now. Love the photo and it wasn’t quite as nice (super moon) in my neck of the woods.

Thank YOU, Patrick. I had a blast on your site — and your second shout out on Friday’s post seems to have driven even more traffic over to What I Saw. I met some lovely peeps of yours and am now following them. Again, thanks so much. And keep building those villages!

Oh, Lena, thank you for the kind compliments regarding my guest post. I’m so glad you like the header on my blog; those are all photos I took here in the desert, compiled into a single collage.

I found you via Patrick’s blog, too. He may not realize how much more like a village than an island he is, or at least, if an island, one with a very busy ferry.
Your supermoon photo is astonishing — makes it look like a round of golden cheese dipped in Irish butter.

I agree, Beth, that Patrick is very much a villager. I didn’t realize I wanted to take a bite out of that moon until you described it the way you did. Yum!

Oh, Donna, thank you. You’re a doll. Hubby was the taker of that gorgeous moon shot! It’s rare that I let him have the camera, but when he does, what a job he does.
